  About the Role

  As a Sr Development Manager in Financials product development, you will be leading team(s) of hardworking, passionate, and ambitious software engineers. Collaborating with technical architects and product managers, as well as QA, Automation, Research/UX, Agility, and Document-writing partners, you will drive the delivery of innovative features that have been crafted to meet the varying needs of our geographically dispersed customers. One of your key objectives will be to accelerate solutions while safeguarding the high quality our customers have come to expect from Workday applications.

  Responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of software engineers and manager(s) in the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions.

  • Determine project scope, objectives, and timelines, and ensure successful implementation of software development projects.

  • Collaborate closely with teams from various departments, such as product management, quality assurance, and user experience, to drive product excellence.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to foster their professional growth and ensure their success.

  • Strategically communicate and influence partners, peers, management and the team on key decisions.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance the quality and performance of our software products.

  • Improve application health and performance through a data-driven approach.

  About You

  Are you an experienced software development professional looking for an exceptional opportunity to take on a Senior Leadership role? Look no further! Workday Financials is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Manager to join our world-class engineering team in Vancouver, Canada.

  Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team with 5+ engineers

  • 5+ years OO software design and development experience

  • Experience guiding development teams using Agile development methodologies

  • Delivered large-scale and highly concurrent ERP systems in a people manager capacity

  Other Qualifications

  • You have a 4-year degree in computer science or equivalent.

  • A deep understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • A track record of ensuring that features meet requirements

  • You are motivated by helping your team with career growth and personal development

  • You are passionate about delivering innovative technical solutions to meet client needs

  • You are both strategic and detail oriented

  
  Workday Pay Transparency Statement

  The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
