      Responsibilities

      Job Overview: Position exists within the Packing Department at Durban Rice Plant, invite applicants to apply for this position. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.

      • Inspect pallets prior to stacking.
      • Use the correct pallet size for packing and ensure pallets are covered with pallet sheet covers.
      • Stack all products neatly according to pallet configuration.
      • Ensure the correct number of packets are in the bales.
      • Place the correct barcode labels for the relevant products.
      • Inspect the products for any damages or quality issues.
      • Check if the date code is correct.
      • Ensure that housekeeping is always maintained.
      • Ensure compliance with all GMP and all food safety rules.
      • Report any food safety or quality non-conformances to your supervisor.
      • Always comply with all safety rules.
      • Report any near misses.

      Qualifications

      • Minimum: NQF 4 or Grade 12 or similar relevant qualification.
      • 12 months’ experience in a similar environment.
      • Health and safety standards.
