Strength and Conditioning Coach Work cooperatively with coaches to improve the performance of high school and junior high athletes. Facilitate the use of proper strength and conditioning techniques while aiding in the prevention of injuries. Job Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from accredited university Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate Alternative Certification Program (ACP) applicants must have passed content exams in order to be eligible for employment Possess current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA or pursuing to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid preferred One year or more of strength coaching experience in an educational environment preferred Major Duties and Responsibilities Program design and guiding student-athletes and coaches through a regimen of exercises to optimize performance and decrease injury potential Responsible for coordination and scheduling of all the daily operations of the strength training facility Maintain all strength and conditioning facilities in the district, including, but not limited to repairing or replacing equipment as needed Collect and maintain records for athletes participating in our strength and conditioning program, as well as a longitudinal report given to each coach following the administration of performance testing The creation, distribution, and review of all individual workout sheets given to each assigned sport Setting up and taking down of all speed, agility, and quickness workouts that are scheduled on a daily basis Maintain a current inventory of all speed and strength training equipment within the district Design of and monitor compliance of the junior high fundamental training model Plan, organize, and direct summer strength and conditioning camps for both high school and junior high students Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting in-service training for coaches in the district so that all may work cooperatively and effectively to implement the program Assist in all aspects of the organization and implementation of the state mandated Fitness Gram Testing for the district Attend various athletic practices, games, and events to observe and monitor progress of athletes, as well as gather data to design and plan future training sessions Perform duties as assigned by the Building Principal or Director of Athletics Apply Apply online, including your resume and letter of interest. ACP Candidates must attach the program acceptance letter with current eligibility status. Other Information The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
