      Description

      TITLE: Strengthening Families Coordinator

      DIVISION: Children, Youth & Family Services Division (CY&FS)

      UNIT: Community Umbrella Agency (CUA)

      REPORTS TO: CUA Director of Community Engagement

      EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time

      FLSA STATUS: Exempt

      SUMMARY

      Strengthening Family Coordinators provide support to the overall CUA team. The focus is on working toward the target goals of improving safety, permanency, and well-being of children, youth, and families. The team supports the community’s needs, develops & maintains a network of key community leaders and stakeholders while serving as the primary point of contact between the CUA and the community members within the designated geographic region. Coordinate and support family and community outreach, promote the programs and services offered by the CUA, and provide guidance and feedback to CUA leadership to help address the unique issues, concerns, and needs of the community. Support the planning of community programming; such as: Parent Cafes, Parent Engagement Activities and Training.

      Qualifications


      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      · Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field including but not limited to: Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Divinity, or Public Health

      · Minimum of 2 years work experience in a position that involves working in child, youth, and family serving systems

      · Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in an unrelated field require a minimum of 3 years experience working in child, youth, and family serving systems

      · Ability to use computers with proficient skill in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

      · Knowledge of child and family service systems

      · Knowledge of social work values and/or child welfare services

      · Valid Driver’s License (issued by state in which employee lives) and safe driving record and proof of insurance coverage

      ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

      · Free from contagious disease/infection

      · Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance

      · Criminal Check Clearance

      · Mental Health Assessment, if necessary

      · Substance Assessment, if necessary

      · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and community members

      · Ability to identify, create, and foster community relationships and partnerships

      · Self-starter, ability to work both autonomously and in groups

      · Must be flexible and willing to change work schedule to accommodate client

      · Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal

      · May be required to use own vehicle when other means of transportation are unavailable.

      · Able to respond to Aon-call@ rotation responsibilities without incurring difficulty

      · Attend and complete all training mandated by DHS and designated by NET
