Marketing and communications professionals at the School of Business work collaboratively within the school and across the university to elevate the academic reputation, enrollment efforts, alumni engagement, research enterprise and connect the GWSB community of students, faculty and staff - as well as external partners and audiences - with high quality, authentic information and experiences.
Position Specific Summary
This part-time position is for the summer or the fall months: May - August 2026 or August -December 2026 (with flexible start and end dates). We are seeking students with writing, research, graphic design, video or photo skills to help support GW School of Business across its social media, digital and external platforms.
Please provide a sample of work or a link to a portfolio (writers can share writing samples and designers, videographers or photographers can share examples of work).
As an integral team member, you will be proactive, inclusive, creative and innovative in thinking, planning and execution:
- Engage key internal and external audiences
- Create and amplify authentic and key brand affirming messages, events, and thought leadership
- Plan and execute content for the brand, internal departments and/or special events with internal communications and social media, following the GW Brand Guide; integrate wit and wisdom as brand personality as appropriate.
- Work on a timeline/editorial calendar; collaborate with colleagues across specialized areas including graphic design, web and video production, media and research communications; external audiences, students, staff, faculty and alumni.
Standard Position Description
The student will provide basic support with print, web, social media, and/or other digital content. Tasks may include: posting and updating website pages and social media accounts; create written communications and/or newsletters, assist with graphic and/or video editing. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.
