      Southern New Hampshire University’s Graduate Education Programs Department is currently seeking an Assistant. This is a Student Worker position (work study or University Paid) to support projects across all three of our department’s pillars - including but not limited to Doctoral Programming, Initial and Advanced Licensure M.Ed. & CAGS programming, and Partnership and Non-Licensure M.Ed. and CAGS Programming, as well as Professional Development Non-Degree Programming.

      In collaboration with the Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, and Directors and Assistant Directors across all three pillars of GEP, the Graduate Education Programs Assistant will deliver support for ongoing projects, develop and maintain internal academic data, and collaborate as a team to support all project needs. This might include assisting with research projects, general office support, cataloging and maintaining data, special event assistance, and other tasks needed to support the department. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; and adaptability and flexibility. Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team on a regular basis and have a willingness to jump in and take on additional projects as needed.

      This student worker position is open to all Undergraduate or Graduate Day students and is an opportunity for students interested in the field of education and project management. The student worker will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the field of education and grow as a student and professional. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; oral and written communication skills; adaptability and flexibility, and be a self-starter. Must be able to work independently as well as collaborate with the team on a regular basis and have a willingness to jump in and take on additional projects as needed.

      This position is a mixture of remote work and in-person work on campus, including but not limited to in-person work on campus for the Doctoral weekends once per month, and the one-week residency in the summer, as well as a minimum of weekly check-ins on campus.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Assist with and execute day-to-day administrative functions and special projects and research needs across all three pillars of the GEP department.
      • Assist with the organization, management, and facilitation of the monthly Doctoral Class Weekends and the one-week residency in the summer.
      • Develop, design, and prepare distribution outreach and informative materials including video, print, and digital assets to a variety of audiences across all three pillars.
      • Report on sensitive and confidential program data while upholding all FERPA guidelines.
      • Organize, scan, and archive files and records across all three GEP pillars.
      • Collect and mail printed dissertations and copywrite materials, as well as any other mailings needed across all three GEP pillars.
      • Assist with Brightspace courses and organizations in all three GEP pillars.
      • Assist with updating syllabi templates for programs across all three GEP pillars.
      • Assist with onboarding of new partners and the creation of LocalID codes.
      • Assisting the GEP Academic Operations/Student Support team needs with answering phones, emails, and student registrations at certain times a year when there is high demand.
      • Assist with events within the Department.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate Day program at SNHU
      • Ability to work independently on researching information when provided with project guidelines
      • Ability to adapt to changing environments and priorities.
      • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
      • Comfortable making phone calls to students or faculty, or to conduct research when necessary
      • Proficiency with Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel and SharePoint
      • Proficient using videoconferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Effective evidence of strong oral and written communication skills
      • Ability to work independently
      • Flexibility, creativity, maturity in judgment
      • Ability to work with a variety of constituents

      Work Hours:

      • Students will be able to work up to 20 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8-4:30 pm with some nights and weekends based on events.
      • Shifts will generally be between 2-4 hours in length and will be flexible around course scheduling.

      Learning Outcomes/Skills Learned:

      As a result of working as a student worker for the Graduate Education Programs department, the student will develop their Teamwork/Collaboration, Critical Thinking/Problem Solving, Digital Technology, Integrity, project management, and written communication skills.
