Talkeetna River Park is located in the small rural community of Talkeetna, AK. Talkeetna is a popular tourist destination, with over 100,000 tourist and recreation enthusiast visiting the community during the summer. Talkeetna River Park is a small tent camping area at the edge of town. The host will need their own RV. We will provide electricity. Camper fees will need to be collected, trash pick-up, restroom facilities cleaned daily and re-stocked. Additional duties listed below.
Volunteer Opportunity.
Stipend: Park Hosts receive a $10.00 per day stipend.
Applicants must pass a background check and be at least 18 years of age. They must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. or at times heavier loads with assistance. The applicant must be outgoing, courteous, and helpful to all park visitors. The applicant must provide their own functional recreational vehicle for living accommodations. Tents are not allowed by the campground host.Duties: Greet visitors and collect fees from campground patrons. Keep trash cans emptied, clean restrooms, replace supplies, keep camping spaces clean after each patron's use, and perform other light duties as needed. Oversee the park to ensure it is clean and safe, and that visitors follow rules. Park must be monitored at all times. Contact authorities if laws are broken and report damage and vandalism to Park Staff promptly. Follow all safety instructions, hazardous materials disposal, etc.
Stipend: Park Hosts receive a $10.00 per day stipend.
Timetable: Depending on spring weather conditions, we will open between mid May to just before the Memorial Day weekend and we close after the Labor Day weekend.
