      Primary Purpose

      Provide students (K-12) identified with dyslexia and related disorders with evidence-based dyslexia instruction (EBDI) standard protocol, designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, enabling them to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

      Qualifications

      Education/Certification/Licensure

      Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

      Valid Texas Teaching Certification

      Valid Special Education Certification

      LDT, LDP, CALP, or CALT, preferred

      Special Knowledge/Skills

      • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
      • Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
      • Knowledge and understanding of special education and dyslexia
      • Proficiency in data analysis, recordkeeping, and educational technology (including assistive tech as needed
      • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills; ability to train and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
      • Knowledge of evidence-based instruction components

      Experience

      Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience in the areas of reading or dyslexia and related disorders.

      Major Responsibilities and Duties

      1. Guide student learning by providing district-aligned, standard protocol dyslexia instruction using explicit, structured, multisensory methods, informed by ongoing assessment and student data to support progress toward curriculum goals.
      2. Conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments; analyze and use student and program data to plan instruction, guide student progress, and support data-driven decisions for continuous improvement based on best practices.
      3. Use appropriate educational technologies (including assistive technology and software) to support student learning.
      4. Manage student behavior in accordance with the CCISD Student Code of Conduct and Handbook.
      5. Participate in dyslexia screening, evaluation, and re-evaluation processes (Full Initial Individual Evaluation) as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, providing expertise for appropriate placement.
      6. Attend required ARD meetings, providing data-driven input to support IEP goal development and compliance with dyslexia program requirements.
      7. Prepare, update, and maintain IEPs and 504 plans (including present levels and goals) in compliance with the Dyslexia Handbook and district procedures; collaborate with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee and staff to set instructional goals and methods.
      8. Manage, verify, and maintain accurate student program data and reports to support instructional planning, program analysis, and student recommendations.
      9. Comply with and assist in implementing all applicable local, state, and federal laws, administrative regulations, board policies, and confidentiality requirements related to dyslexia and special education.
      10. Serve as the campus dyslexia resource specialist, supporting staff and families with dyslexia identification, accommodations, and services.
      11. Provide training and resources to campus staff and parents regarding dyslexia characteristics, identification, and instructional strategies.
      12. Communicate clearly and professionally with students, parents, and staff about student progress and instructional plans.
      13. Assume campus-based responsibilities as assigned by the campus principal.
      14. Maintain open communication with parents and staff through conferences and timely responses to phone calls and messages.
      15. Guide student learning in alignment with the district’s philosophy of education and curriculum goals, while collaborating with campus and district instructional supervisors, leaders, and department heads to improve instruction.
      16. Provides care and protection of school/department property and is held accountable for books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
      17. Engage in ongoing professional development in dyslexia education and special education, collaborate with colleagues to reflect on practice, and implement new strategies.

      27. Meet task completion deadlines established by the supervisor.
      28. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
      29. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
      30. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e., email, written, and verbal).
      31. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.
