      Basic Qualifications

      Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree.

      CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
      Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

      From writing new or enhancing existing technical product guides, training lessons and program documentation, as our Electrical Manual Technical Writing Specialist, your talent will be front and center. You'll create, develop, plan, write and edit complex operational, instructional, interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs), maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication, training guides and lessons. We'll depend on you to act as a primary technical editor on client deliverables. You'll implement editorial and document governance standards for quality and style; ensure all assigned deliverables meet these standards.

      Overview:
      The Tech Writing Specialist is responsible for creating, developing, planning, writing, and editing complex technical
      documentation. This involves gathering and translating technical information into user-friendly manuals , lesson materials and web-based documents. The tecnical writer will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and quality of
      technical publications

      Key Responsibilities:
      • Create, develop, plan, write, and edit complex operational, instructional, interactive electronic technical
      manuals (IETMs), maintenance, or test procedures for paper, multimedia, training guides/lessons or web-based publications.
      • Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation.
      • Produce products that conform to company documentation and quality assurance standards.
      • Develops course materials and establishes course content per customer requirements.
      • Research and translate technical information into manuals, lessons, guides and/or web-based documents for nontechnical
      and technical users.
      • Works with various departments to ensure documentation and course material reflects current product features.
      • Updates course documentation regularly to ensure relevance and accuracy.
      • Ensure the accurate preparation of documents for interim and final delivery to customers by participating in
      peer reviews of documentation.
      • Performs technical research and collaborates with customers, engineers, and other tech writers to develop
      program documentation and training content.
      • Acquire subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing production methods, and referring
      to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
      • Proactively inform leadership of assignment status working to resolve issues and/or concerns.
      • Determine the scope and timeline of new documentation projects to plan projects.
      • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
      • Understanding of technical writing principles and practices.
      • Proficiency in creating and managing technical documentation, guides, and training materials.
      • Ability to conduct quality reviews and ensure editorial and format consistency.
      • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work with various stakeholders to meet project deadlines and regulatory requirements.

      What you bring to the table:
      • A Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field, or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree
      • Solid knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
      • Strong written communication skills and the ability to tailor communication to target audience through effective listening and interviewing skills
      • Solid understanding of DoD MIL standards and style guides and the ability to adhere to and implement such standards to technical documentation

      Salary Note

      This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

      Combined Salary Range

      USD $73,861.00 - USD $79,920.00 /Yr.
