What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Teach and develop courses in Technical Writing and related subjects for various degree programs
- Participate in curricular redevelopment and teach both asynchronous and synchronous online courses
- Contribute to the department's initiatives in critical artificial intelligence studies and technology communication
- Engage in service responsibilities, including participation on departmental and university committees
- Foster a learning environment that prepares students for technology-intensive professional settings
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Ph.D. in Technical Writing, Rhetoric and Composition, English, Communication Studies, Professional and Technical Communication, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated expertise in technical and professional communication, particularly in engineering, aviation, aerospace, or data-driven fields
- Evidence of excellence in teaching technical or professional writing, with experience in online and asynchronous curriculum development
- Ability to integrate emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence tools, into communication pedagogy
- Active research agenda or professional experience in technical communication, critical AI studies, or science and technology communication
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience or interest in aviation, engineering, or aerospace communication
- Strong potential for teaching excellence in technical, scientific, or professional writing
- Record of interdisciplinary collaboration or research that complements departmental strengths
