Description
The Territory Manager is responsible for driving sales performance and market growth within an assigned territory by supporting Sales Representatives, customers, and rooting stations. This role partners closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote Ball FloraPlant’s products, provide technical and commercial support, and strengthen customer relationships. The position also plays a key role in gathering market insights and representing Ball FloraPlant at industry events.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Support Ball Seed Sales Reps in a defined territory, including BSC customers, with the sale, use, and technical support of all Ball FloraPlant and Selecta One products to provide the best genetics to customer and sales reps.
• Develop plans and strategies for sales growth in the region, with input into forecasting and budgeting to increase market share.
• Actively promote and support the sale and use of Ball FloraPlant products with key growers, primarily suppliers of larger retail customers, grower councils, etc.
• Represent Ball FloraPlant at marketing and trade events, including but not limited to California Spring Trials, trade shows, field trials, advanced trial meetings, and regional grower meetings to coordinate and connect with customers and sales representatives.
• Coordinate sampling of new and existing varieties to growers and other influencers to demonstrate the performance attributes of Ball FloraPlant and Selecta One products.
• Provide industry intelligence back to the appropriate parties within Ball FloraPlant, as well as providing information to breeders, product managers, and others on product-specific insights.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a horticultural or related field preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in the horticultural industry, preferably in account management, sales, or a related field.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
• Proven ability to communicate with all levels of an organization and demonstrated organization and follow-through skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work to meet deadlines and business objectives
Salary Range: $110-125K
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift/carry 25 lbs up to 10% of the day
• Ability to push/pull 50 lbs up to 10% of the day
• Ability to sit/stand up to 80% of the day
• Ability to kneel/bend up to 10% of the day
• Ability to reach up to 10% of the day
• Ability to climb/balance up to 10% of the day
• Ability to use hands/fingers up to 80% of the day
• Ability to work in hot and humid environmental conditions for up to 60% of the day
