Job Description

- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Company and OSHA safety rules and regulations, understanding machine safeguards, recognizing and reporting safety hazards, wearing required PPE.
- Work from design concepts, work orders, sketches, component parts, blue prints, charts, tables, and verbal instructions to:
- Plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies.
- Conceptualize and independently develop designs for tooling projects and recommend methods and materials to be utilized for specific production operations.
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gages, and tools to specifications.
- File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Setup and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
- Maintain the Company's electronic asset management and maintenance record keeping system.
- Prepare project plans and project status reports, as required.
- Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 6S standards.
- Participate in various lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, or learn new skills or operations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Must possess knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance and design techniques, tools, and principles; read blueprints and understand dimensions and tolerances; use a variety of precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, indicators, and height gauges.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Basic math and trigonometry.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
- Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
