Associate degree in veterinary technology, biomedical science, animal science, or a related area, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four years technical experience in veterinary medicine, radiology, or related field
Experience in veterinary diagnostic imaging
Specialty training in advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine)
LVT, RT, and/or ARRT certification
Ability to operate radiology, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine equipment
Working knowledge of PACS and electronic medical record systems
Ability to assess image quality and apply corrective techniques as needed
Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to critical patients
Advanced Imaging Services (CT and/or MRI): Performs advanced diagnostic imaging examinations primarily in Computed Tomography (CT) and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI ) for small and/or large animal patients. Performs diagnostic imaging examinations in Small and/or Large Animal Radiology, Small Animal Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine. Opera tes advanced imaging equipment including CT scanners, MRI systems, associated monitoring equipment, PACS, internal EMR systems, and related computer applications. Prepares patients for advanced imaging procedures, including positioning, contrast administration support, and adherence to modality-specific safety protocols. Demonstrates strong understanding of CT and MRI safety practices, including screening, zoning, and emergency procedures. Evaluates image quality and performs basic post-processing to ensure diagnostic standards are met. Recognizes and appropriately responds to critical or unstable patients during advanced imaging procedures. Identifies equipment performance concerns and coordinates troubleshooting with senior technologists, supervisors, and vendors as appropriate. Maintains efficient workflow while minimizing downtime and supporting daily advanced imaging schedules.
Instruction and Teaching Support: Assists Radiologists with teaching responsibilities in the advanced imaging clinical setting. Provides hands-on guidance and instruction to veterinary students, residents, and trainees during CT and/or MRI procedures. Reinforces proper positioning, imaging protocols, and modality-specific safety standards. Supports the educational mission of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital through consistent instruction and professional communication. Utilizes job knowledge, judgment, and problem-solving skills to support consistent imaging quality and documentation.
Clinical Support and Team Collaboration: Works collaboratively with anesthesia, clinicians, residents, and imaging team members to coordinate advanced imaging cases. Communicates effectively regarding patient status, scheduling needs, and workflow considerations. Assists with maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient advanced imaging environment. Participates in departmental meetings, workflow discussions, and quality improvement initiatives related to advanced imaging services.
Training and Certifications: Maintains required safety training, including radiation safety, MRI safety, infection prevention, and aseptic technique. Maintains professional certifications and continuing education requirements as applicable. Participates in ongoing modality-specific training to remain current with evolving CT and MRI technology and other advanced imaging modalities.

We are looking for a Veterinary Radiological Technologist III to join our Radiology team at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible for performing advanced level exams within the Radiology department. You will assist Radiologist with teaching duties in the clinical imaging setting, assist with Standard Office Procedure (SOP) development, trains student workers, and helps maintain workflow in DICTC building for Large and Small Animal Hospital.

Salary : Starting at $21.33/hour.
Location/Schedule: Located on-site in College Station, this role will have a typical schedule of Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
