Provide a short description of the Position: Services for a team of IT support professionals to work with complex software and hardware issues to support NYMTC's core activities and to comply with federal requirements
Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Support and configure installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, or related networking equipment. Identify the causes of networking problems using diagnostic testing software and equipment. Configure security settings, access permissions for groups and individuals. Install, inspect, secure and troubleshoot networked computers. Install network software, including security or firewall software. Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems. Back up network data. Monitor NYMTC website for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification. Backup databases and develop and test recovery plans so that the data can be restored quickly. Support remote operations of NYMTC and Transportation Coordinating Committee (TCC) staff. Write SQL statements, manage databases, optimize databases, manage SharePoint site. Support for Geographic Information System & NYMTC’s enterprise Best Practice Model, Support Azure Cloud Services, Ubuntu & Related Software
