  Position Overview : Warehouse Assistant I

  Wilsonart, in Orlando , currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant I . This person performs warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities.u00A0 Fills customer orders, inspects material and packs material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES u00A0 include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  u2022 Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors

  u2022 Checks and places materials in the correct bin

  u2022 Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies

  u2022 Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials

  u2022 Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders

  u2022 Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders

  u2022 Performs total skid count for loads

  u2022 Adhere to all established safety protocols and procedures

  u2022 Assists the needs of the customer

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to learn computers sufficient to check inventories
  • Ability to learn materials inventoried
  • Ability to learn packing techniques
  • Ability to learn proper material handling techniques
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to drive a lift truck
  • Ability to read and understand customer orders
  • Ability to operate a saw
  • Ability to enter data at an acceptable speed
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely

  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED

  u00A0

  EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years relevant warehouse experience

  
  PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS

  ENVIRONMENT

  Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
