What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as an intermediary between customers and dealers to address contract and vehicle concerns
- Conduct outbound and inbound calls using both an auto-dialer and telephone system
- Negotiate effectively with customers to secure payment commitments
- Perform skip-tracing activities to locate customers through database searches
- Initiate and monitor repossession efforts to recover collateral
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the consumer lending collections field, preferably in the subprime auto industry
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to understand and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations
- Professional and tactful interaction skills with customers and team members
- High School Diploma or GED required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in skip-tracing and vehicle repossessions
- Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish
- Familiarity with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
- Previous work experience in a call center environment
- Knowledge of auto finance and consumer finance practices
