What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeals, ensuring timely resolution
- Provide training for employees and vendors, acting as a knowledge resource for team members
- Research and audit patient accounts for further payment or adjustments
- Maintain productivity standards by managing daily accounts receivable tasks with accuracy
- Answer incoming calls from patients, insurance companies, and physician offices
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a healthcare insurance receivables environment
- Strong mathematical, research, analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ASA codes, as well as medical terminology and insurance processing guidelines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently with limited supervision
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
- Two to three years of collection experience
- Two years of posting, coding, or accounts receivable collection experience in a healthcare organization
- Advanced understanding of claim needs and billing activities
