      Job Overview

      MBUSA Finished Vehicles/Customs Department is responsible for the management of export operations at all outbound ports in the USA for vehicles owned by MBUSA that were produced by affiliate(s) owned by MBAG in the USA.


      This position is responsible for supporting Manager - Export Operations with all day-to-day export operations activities regarding vehicles from the time the vehicles are released to rail and until the vehicles are exported outside of the USA. This position is responsible for tracking day-to-day operations for all rail, port operations, vehicle movement, and vehicle quality processes.

      The position must ensure the export operations is done in the most cost and operationally efficient manner in order to achieve MBAG’s export objectives.

      The position oversees the plant and transportation-related quality of export operations and is the quality specialist between MBUSI and MBUSA’s Vehicle Operations team who oversees all export operations. This individual will identify root cause of quality issues and test highly technical work instructions to repair and improve the quality of the vehicles handled by export operations. This position will obtain input and advice from the plant to address non-transportation quality issues of the vehicles prior to departure from the USA. This position is responsible for determining, developing documents and assuring implementation of all quality processes, tools, and controls to address issues in accordance with the applicable Mercedes-Benz quality standards and processes.

      Responsibilities


      Quality Inspection Process (20%)

      • Oversee MBUSA/MBUSI vehicle inspection processes to ensure adherence to Mercedes Benz quality standards.
      • Manage reporting and documentation to track inspection findings and provide actionable feedback to internal and external stakeholders.
      • Work alongside Mercedes-Benz and third party inspection teams onsite and offsite the Brunswick port.
      • Perform continuous on floor observation and communicate quality and transportation damage as identified.
      • Participate in daily and weekly onsite/online meetings to review quality and transportation topics.

      Auditing and Compliance (20%)

      • Conduct vehicle and process audits throughout export operations using assigned manpower resources.
      • Perform direct audits of port inspection processes and third party operational workflows.
      • Ensure all audits are documented, tracked, and available for reference or presentation at any time.
      • Implement continuous auditing practices to confirm operations meet or exceed Mercedes Benz standards

      Data Analysis & Reporting (20%)

      • Manage verbal and written communications with Quality Management teams and MBUSA supported by evidential data.
      • Analyzed feedback from transportation colleagues, the Tuscaloosa plant, and global markets. Consolidated insights into clear, professional reports for effective communication and decision making.
      • Identify damage causes, trends, and quality patterns while providing recommended solutions and corrective actions.

      Repair and Body Shop Quality Management (10%)

      • Oversee repair quality and ensure all work meets Mercedes Benz standards.
      • Maintain continuous communication with body shop operations regarding quality concerns.
      • Ensure third party repair providers remain compliant and utilize current documentation and work instructions.
      • Serve as final quality approval authority before vehicles are released to market.

      Leadership & Workforce Coordination (5%)

      • Oversee and manage 4 - 8 direct team members.
      • Create work schedules and assign daily tasks based on operational needs.
      • Ensure team compliance with operational and quality standards.
      • Optimize workforce utilization to support daily operational demands.

      Parts & Damage Vehicle Management (5%)

      • Coordinate parts ordering ensuring order accuracy and proper disposition.
      • Act as central point of communication between MBUSI and MBUSA Port Operations for parts processes.
      • Track and manage damage notifications, identify trends, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.

      EV Quality & Reporting (5%)

      • Oversee EV reporting systems and battery tracking processes across supply chain.
      • Monitor EV battery levels received from plant via rail and truck.
      • Oversee port EV charging processes.
      • Prepare and distribute weekly battery tracking reports to plants addressing transportation and handling topics.

      Compliance Documentation (5%)

      • Document export operational processes to meet ISO and compliance standards.

      MB Culture (5%)

      • Actively influence MBUSA associates to build an ongoing culture of leadership innovation and best practices

      Inventory Support (5%)

      • Support monthly and quarterly inventory processes at port facilities.
      • Assist Export Logistics leadership with inventory reporting.
      • Participate in quarterly onsite physical inventory scans with port processors

      Qualifications


      Education

      Bachelor’s Degree (accredited school) or must have 3-5 years of equivalent work experience with emphasis in:
      Business Administration
      Business Management
      Communications
      Project Management
      Process Improvement, Logistics

      Must have 3-5 years of experience in the following:


      Automotive-Supply Chain Knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures, with emphasis in finished vehicle logistics

      Business - General Proficient Knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that influence the success and profitability of the organization.

      Communications Planning Knowledge of marketing research sources and data analysis techniques, marketing plan development process, strategic and creative integration techniques, marketing team organization and operational processes.

      Integrated Supply Chain Management (ISCM) Knowledge of the principles and methodology for a process-orientated, integrated approach to procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to customers.

      Processing Knowledge of processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques in order to achieve maximum efficiency.

      Requirements and Conditions

      • Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule
      • Travel domestically
      • Work weekends and Holidays when required
