CTG is seeking to fill an AEM Developer opening for our client in New York, NY.
Location : New York, NY
Duration : 6+ months
Position Summary:
The AEM Developer is an experienced developer who will work hand-in-hand with our current AEM Vendor as our in-house resource to help manage all Company applications currently on the AEM platform: Volunteer Tool Kit, GoGold and 110 Websites. This developer will interface with internal Company employees, contractors, and remote vendors.
· Develop, implement, and configure web content management solutions using AEM (Adobe CQ) and technologies such as Java, HTML/DHTML, XML, VueJs, JavaScript, and RESTful web services
· Develop Editable templates, reusable components, and Workflows in AEM 6.5 Standard.
· Understanding Unix/Linux environment, network security, database administration and tuning, and Apache web server.
· Collaborate with on-site and offshore technical resources to elicit business requirements, conduct technical design sessions, and provide guidance on best design practices as well as critical business and data test scenarios to build an effective and efficient solution.
· In case of critical production problems, this role is responsible for leading triaging, root cause analysis, solution design and implementation until problems are resolved.
· Assist clients in achieving strategic objectives through technology solution implementation, taking a technical leadership role in some circumstances
· Translating business requirements into technical details relevant to Adobe CQ5
· Ensuring quality of code is high for themselves and other team members.
· QA/Unit testing with team
· Troubleshooting and defect remediation
· Understand the client's technical environment and how they use technology to provide the best, focused advice
· Provide input into estimating engagement activities and execute engagements following the Agile methodology including SCRUM
Required Competencies:
· Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience in the development industry.
· Two to three (2-3) years’ minimum technical experience with Adobe CQ5/AEM content management systems
· Web portal back-end development experience
· End-to-end knowledge of the web application space including web server configuration, tuning, proxies and load balancing
· Strong background in scalability and automation
· Strong Java/J2EE/JSP experience - minimum or 4 years developing large system applications
· Working knowledge and understanding of the following: JCR, Apache Sling, Apache Felix, OSGi, REST, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS
Bonus Skills:
· Strong understanding of SQL language and databases. NoSQL databases a plus (such as Mongo)
· Strong writing skills
· Experience in defining, developing and using RESTful APIs
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group is required.
