Analyst, Strategy Automation

Job Description
- Req#: 4045613
- Automate recurring strategic deliverables. Build end-to-end pipelines for partner performance briefs, opportunity scorecards, portfolio heatmaps, and executive reporting packages. Leadership defines the output; you figure out how to build it, automate it, and make it repeatable.
- Engineer actionable reporting. The goal is not reports for the sake of reports. Every automated output should drive a decision, surface a priority, or equip a partner-facing team with what they need to act.
- Own the data extraction and transformation layer. Pull, clean, and format data from source systems into polished, stakeholder-ready outputs in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Maintain scoring and ranking models. Keep the team's weighted percentile calculations, partner ranking models, and opportunity sizing engines current as data refreshes and methodology evolves.
- Coordinate with functional teams without stepping on them. Work alongside Analytics, Medical Economics, and Data Engineering to integrate upstream data feeds into automated workflows. You consume their outputs; you don't rebuild them.
- Prototype and hand off. Build new reporting formats and insight delivery mechanisms as proofs of concept, then hand off scaled solutions to functional teams for ongoing production.
- Document everything. Every automated pipeline, data dependency, and refresh schedule gets documented so the team can understand, maintain, and extend what you build.
- Integrity: The right way is the only way.
- Dependability: You do what you say you're going to do.
- Advocacy: You fight for the best possible outcome for providers and their patients.
- Clarity: You make it all understandable.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 0 to 2 years. Internship or co-op experience in finance, actuarial, analytics, or healthcare operations counts.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation.
- Strong Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to take a manual, repeatable process and automate it end to end, whether in a work, academic, or personal project context.
- Comfort with ambiguity. Leadership will tell you what the output should accomplish; you figure out how to build it.
- Familiarity with or willingness to rapidly learn AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cowork). These are core to how the team operates.
- Healthcare data or value-based care experience is preferred but not required. What matters more is a quantitative mindset and the ability to learn complex domains quickly.
- Bias toward shipping working solutions quickly over perfecting documentation. Iterate fast, get feedback, improve continuously.
The Why Behind Wellvana:
The healthcare system isn't designed for health. We're designed to change that. We're Wellvana, and we help doctors deliver life-changing healthcare.
Through our elevated value-based care programs, we're revitalizing an antiquated system that's far too long relied on misaligned incentives that reward quantity of care not the quality of it.
Our enlightened approach, covering everything from care coordination to clinical documentation education to marketing, ties the healthy outcomes of patients directly to shared savings for primary care providers, health systems and payors.
Providers in our curated network keep their independence, reduce their administrative headaches, and spend more time with patients. Patients, in turn, get an elevated experience with coordinated care between appointments that is nothing short of life-changing.
Named a 2024 "Best in Business" and 2023 "Best Place to Work" by Nashville Business Journal, we're one of the fastest-growing healthcare companies in America because what we do works. This is the way medicine is meant to be.
Clarity on the Role:
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Strategy & Performance within the ACO Performance & Strategy team, a strategic coordination layer that prioritizes the organization's highest-impact opportunities, builds economic cases for intervention, and prototypes how to deliver strategy and insights to partners before handing models to functional teams to scale.
The Strategy Automation Analyst is the team's force multiplier. Leadership designs the analytical frameworks, partner briefs, scorecards, and reporting packages. This role builds the automated pipelines that produce them at scale, using AI-assisted development tools, SQL, and Excel to transform manual, recurring workflows into repeatable, production-grade systems that deliver high-performance insights faster and more consistently.
Why This Role Matters:
The ACO Performance & Strategy team is responsible for identifying where the biggest savings opportunities sit, which partners need which interventions, and how to sequence resources for maximum impact. That work depends on a constant flow of partner-facing analytics: performance briefs, opportunity scorecards, portfolio heatmaps, and executive reporting packages.
This role exists to scale the production of those insights, engineering great performance and operational reporting that is actionable, timely, and consistent across the full partner portfolio. By automating the pipeline from data to deliverable, one person unlocks the team's ability to operate at a reach and cadence that would otherwise require a team several times its size.
