      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Represent the City Attorney in prosecuting misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal offenses and probation violations
      - Review citations, arrest sheets, and law enforcement documents to determine charges
      - Draft legal documents including complaints, briefs, and motions
      - Manage assigned cases, negotiate plea agreements, and develop prosecution strategies
      - Represent the City of Seattle at arraignments, hearings, and trials, including witness examination

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar Association or ability to obtain membership within 30 days of employment
      - Thorough knowledge of rules of evidence and criminal procedure
      - Strong legal research and writing skills
      - Effective advocacy skills with the ability to present cases persuasively
      - Ability to manage a diverse trial-focused caseload

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience working in a fast-paced legal environment
      - Familiarity with therapeutic courts such as Mental Health Court and Veterans Treatment Court
      - Skills in negotiating and formulating plea agreements
      - Creativity in developing solutions to complex legal problems
