      We are currently seeking a full- time Assistant Payroll Manager to join our Corporate payroll team.

      The Assistant Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing across a multi-state workforce. This role provides leadership for payroll processes, payroll system configuration and reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations. The Payroll Manager partners closely with Finance, Human Resources, and operational leadership to maintain strong payroll controls, support payroll-related financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement in payroll systems, processes, and operational efficiency.
      • Manage the day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
      • Review payroll data, reports, and registers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to payroll processing.
      • Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and company policies.
      • Oversee payroll system activities including payroll configuration, time and attendance integration, and system updates.
      • Monitor payroll reports, audits, and exception reports to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
      • Partner with Finance to support payroll accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting related to payroll activities.
      • Support payroll tax compliance and reporting, ensuring payroll taxes and filings are processed accurately.
      • Assist with biweekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting and analysis.
      • Lead and support payroll staff by providing guidance, training, and oversight of payroll processes.


      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
      • Minimum of 5-7 years of payroll experience, including experience managing payroll operations
      • Experience managing payroll in a multi-state environment
      • Experience processing payroll in a unionized environment and interpreting collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
      • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and wage and hour laws
      • Experience with automated payroll systems (Paycom preferred)
      • Experience supporting reconciliation or processing of agency, contractor, or locum workforce payments
      • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
      • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification
      • Healthcare payroll experience or experience supporting large, distributed workforces
      • Experience with payroll audits, payroll controls, and process improvement initiatives
      • Experience supervising payroll staff
      • Experience configuring and managing complex payroll pay rules, including shift differentials, incentive pay, premiums, and other specialized earnings structures
