What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage insurance claim submission, follow-up, and resolution for various accounts
- Oversee patient account collection efforts, including generating statements and making payment arrangements
- Monitor and pursue delinquent accounts to ensure timely payments
- Ensure billing practices comply with organizational, payer, and governmental regulations
- Collaborate with other team members to enhance billing processes and patient satisfaction
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous medical billing and/or outpatient claims experience
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT medical billing codes
- Familiarity with eCW and/or Medicare/Medicare Advantage billing
- Strong understanding of ethical billing practices and compliance standards
- Must be punctual and available for scheduled shifts
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Five (5) years of experience in medical billing and/or outpatient claims
- Certificate in Medical Billing/Coding or an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management, Business, or a related field
- Credentials such as CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, CPC, COC, and/or CPB
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Experience in optometry billing
