- Roster Development:
- Identify evaluation specialists globally, tailored to sector and geographic needs of our clients. Includes both individuals and evaluation research organizations.
- Assess and select candidates: involves conducting systematic reference checks and interviews.
- Onboard candidates: includes the settling of collaboration terms (fees, availability, role/ tasks and level of effort).
- Nourish relationships with roster members via regular updates of work opportunities.
- Business Development Pipeline Management:
- Monitor procurement opportunities, including teaming opportunities where KonTerra might subcontract on larger projects.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with client procurement counterparts.
- Proposal Development: design team profiles with tailored bios, accurate competency tables, description of team complementarities against ToR requirements.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present KonTerra’s past experience tailored to specific ToR requirements.
- Create and update corporate documents required for RFPs.
- Knowledge management:
- Maintain business development tools.
- Research and write marketing materials.
- Work effectively in a diverse and international team environment and promote KonTerra’s mission, vision, purpose, and values.
- 5-7 years of work experience including experience in business development and proposal writing.
- Experience responding to UN RFPs.
- Familiarity with UN humanitarian / development programming.
- Experience in international humanitarian and development assistance.
- Proven ability to interpret client requirements in RFPs and propose relevant methodological approaches and team compositions.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Work style oriented to quality, organization, and attention to detail.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Experience in a virtual work environment.
- Possessing a network within the humanitarian sector, including evaluators and researchers.
- Experience developing social research methodologies.
- Proficiency in French and/or Spanish desired.
- Data visualization skills.
OVERVIEW
KonTerra Evaluation is focused on delivery of high-quality, complex evaluation services, primarily to UN agencies. We are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to join the EOL team. In this role, we require a detail-oriented professional with strong skills in recruitment, building proposals, technical content writing, and the ability to meet multiple strict deadlines.
The BD Manager will work in collaboration with the rest of the BD Team, composed by another BD Manager and the Director of EOL. Although both BD Managers will have a specific area of focus, the BD work requires constant interaction, awareness of each other's work and progress, use of each other’s input, and common timelines to meet proposal writing objectives.
