      Coach Cleaner – Job Description

      The Coach Cleaner (Waterer) plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of passenger rail cars. This position involves watering trains, washing windows, and supporting general cleaning operations in alignment with train schedules. The role requires adherence to all company policies as well as health, safety, and regulatory standards at the local, state, and federal levels.


      Responsibilities

      • Water trains and wash passenger car windows according to schedule.
      • Collect garbage and perform general labor tasks on rail equipment and facility grounds.
      • Maintain cleanliness and proper conduct in areas around dumpsters and work zones.
      • Immediately report any faulty or unsafe equipment to the supervisor.
      • Assist with additional duties as assigned.
      • Properly wear and use all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
      • Take ownership of personal safety and follow all safety procedures while on the job.

      Essential Skills

      • Cleaning and sanitizing passenger rail cars.
      • Performing general labor and janitorial work.
      • Experience with industrial cleaning and sanitation processes.

      Additional Qualifications

      • High school diploma or GED required.
      • Previous janitorial or related experience is preferred.

      Work Environment

      This role is based at an Amtrak facility, working inside rail cars on the night shift.

      Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM.

      This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
