  Job summary

  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (0.4 WTE) Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/CBT Therapist in Adult Community Mental Health services within HPFT, which has recently received a rating of Outstanding from CQC.

  Main duties of the job

  Psychological Services in adult mental health services in North Hertfordshire are fully embedded within a multi-disciplinary team. Psychological therapists work alongside MDT colleagues across two Adult Community Mental Health services, based in Stevenage and Hitchin. The postholder will work primarily from the team base in Hitchin, although they will work as part of a quadrant wide team providing a service across North Hertfordshire.

  There is a wealth of experience and knowledge of different therapeutic approaches within the team and regular opportunities for peer reflection and supervision. The post holder will also be provided with CPD opportunities and supported in their professional development.

  The applicant will be expected to work with clients presenting with a wide range of difficulties and diagnoses and will receive high quality supervision to support them in their role. The post holder will join a well-established, supportive team of psychological therapists who offer assessment and a range of different psychological interventions within a multidisciplinary community mental health team.

  Essential

  • Doctoral/Masters level training in clinical/counselling psychology, including specific models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, as accredited by the BPS
  • Current registration with HCPC
  • Professional qualification degree level, which should include knowledge and application of research methodology

  Desirable

  • Additional specialist knowledge or training in psychological therapies including CBT
