What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Curate and analyze variants, genes, and gene-disease correlations following ACMG guidelines
- Draft clinical reports and validate tests as needed
- Monitor test turnaround times and assist with task delegation
- Present findings and support R&D initiatives
- Refine processes to improve workflow efficiency
What is Required (Qualifications):
- PhD or MD in clinical medicine, genetics, molecular biology, or equivalent; strong candidates with a Master's degree and relevant experience may be considered
- Familiarity with American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) variant curation guidelines
- 2-4 years of experience in clinical genomics or related fields for Clinical Genomic Scientist II
- 4-6 years of experience in clinical genomics or related fields for Clinical Genomic Scientist III
- 7+ years of experience in clinical genomics or related fields for Clinical Genomic Scientist Senior
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- MB(ASCP) certification
- Experience in bioinformatics analysis, variant effect prediction algorithms, and scripting languages
- Strong understanding of genomic variation and its correlation with human disease
- Proven ability to lead projects and improve workflow processes
- Excellence in reading and writing medical language
