What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign and sequence diagnoses and procedures according to ICD-10 CM Official Coding Guidelines
- Analyze and resolve charge entry coding errors while maintaining familiarity with revenue cycle management processes
- Compose reports using Microsoft Excel and Word, and report on errors, trends, and findings
- Function independently in a high-volume environment, producing quality work while ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with Ob Hospitalists and personnel, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Certified AAPC Coder
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 Office suite, with moderate skills in Excel
- Ability to handle highly confidential materials with high ethical standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret clinical data and medical terminology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with billing, collections from insurance companies and patients, and insurance follow-up
- Familiarity with eBridge, Putty, and Lyra software
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with healthcare professionals
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize job responsibilities effectively
- Commitment to service and professionalism in all interactions
