What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review documentation and coding for both inpatient and outpatient professional services prior to the release of charges
- Query providers regarding items in the chart that need to be reviewed or corrected related to coding
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting billing and coding in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Serve as a resource for practices and departments to ensure reimbursement accuracy through data mining and coding
- Identify coding issues related to billing denials and collaborate with the Coding Educator and Revenue Integrity on training materials
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent, along with accepted coding certifications (CPC, RHIT, CCS)
- Minimum of 1 year coding experience
- 1-2 years of practice operations or revenue cycle experience
- Proficiency in ICD10 and CPT coding, as well as medical terminology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to interact positively with healthcare professionals and team members
