What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Responsible for all aspects of coding, quality assurance, and compliance with Federal payer documentation guidelines
- Serve as a departmental expert on coding questions and exercise independent judgment in code selection
- Research and address billing and documentation questions from faculty and staff to ensure compliance
- Conduct feedback and training sessions for physicians regarding medical record documentation
- Maintain a system of billing accuracy through encounter verification and resolve Epic Charge Review edits
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or graduation equivalent
- Minimum of three years of coding experience with demonstrated analytical skills
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology
- CPC Certification (or department-approved certification)
- Experience with Medicare regulations
