      Description

      Position Summary:

      The Complex Claims Adjuster is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and managing complex pre-suit claims. Responsibilities include responding to pre-suit demands, evaluating prior claim handling and coverage determination, managing task assignments, and communicating with insureds and their representatives.

      Essential Functions:

      • Reviews and evaluate homeowner property claims
      • Maintains accurate diary and/or tasks for each assigned claim
      • Handles projects/tasks as delegate by management
      • Negotiates individual claim files
      • Responds to complex pre-suit demands inclusive of Civil Remedy Notices and Notices of Intent to Litigate
      • Works closely with other team members within Florida Peninsula Insurance/Edison Insurance.
      • Responsible to make sure reserves are appropriately set and revised as needed, per departmental guidelines.
      • Attends and participates at DFS mediations

      Qualifications


      Required Education and Experience:

      • High School diploma required; College degree preferred
      • Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620)
      • 5+ years of property claims adjustment experience or similar experience required
      • Knowledge of property insurance policy and coverage analysis
      • Demonstrated expertise with Florida Homeowners claims

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • 1+ year adjusting property claims involving attorney representation and/or litigation
      • Experience in handling Civil Remedy Notices
      • Experience with mediations in property homeowners claims
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Experience working with customers and providing outstanding service
      • Strong organizational and time management skills
      • Strong negotiation skills
      • Must be able to work under deadlines
      • Skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program
