Learn Kubernetes cluster management tools that facilitate our Shipping product line to ensure uptime, periodically refresh the production envrionment for customer-facing services, and create new development and staging envirionments
Lead the migration of the Shipping APIs from self-managed infrastructure to DTN"s forward-looking Kubernetes platform on Amazon EKS, collectively managed by our DevOps guild.
Actively participate with our international team to understand our latest APIs and data pipelines, attend daily stand-ups and scrum ceremonies, engage teammates and assist as-needed with incident response and GitLab deployments into AWS using Terraform.
Actively participate in DTN's DevOps guild by attending guild meetings, representing and advocating for the engineering team's concerns, and spending up to 20% time on strategic initiatives with DevOps colleagues around the world.
Experience deploying applications in a Kubernetes cluster.
Basic trouble-shooting of common Kubernetes-related issues in a production environment.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes administration concepts and services like CoreDNS.
Experience with tools related to Kubernetes like kubectl, k9s, Helm, and CFSSL.
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Proficiency with Git and CI/CD tools like GitLab or Bitbucket.
The ability to quickly track down issues with automated deployments and distributed systems.
The ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities.
A desire to collaborate across continents, share what's learned, and demonstrate accomplishments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog.
Experience with logging and analysis tools ElasticSearch / OpenSearch.
Proficiency using a variety of AWS services.
Proficiency coding in a language like Python or Node.js.
Familiarity with REST API concepts and terminology.
