      Director of Sales - ESS

      Minneapolis, MN

      Reporting to the VP of Sales, ESS, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and managing sales growth within the ESS channel. In this role, you will identify and formulate plans to grow market share, attain business objects and meet or exceed sales plans

      To be successful in this role, you must be a strong communicator and collaborator, efficient at building relationships at a corporate level, financially proficient and strike the right balance between qualitative and quantitative inputs to make decisions.

      Essential Responsibilities:
      • Annual Business Planning - In partnership with the VP of ESS Sales, develop and execute an annual business plan to achieve organizational, team, and account objectives, aligning short- and long-term goals for the Best Buy channel.
      • Performance Ownership - Own and deliver key performance metrics including sales, profit, account receivables, return on investment, and sell-through performance for assigned accounts.
      • Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner daily with the VP of ESS Sales, and Best Buy's cross-functional teams to manage business priorities, address account needs, and ensure timely resolution with clear communication.
      • Relationship Management - Cultivate and grow strategic relationships within Best Buy to advance joint business plan objectives and secure high-visibility opportunities.
      • Forecasting & Analytics - Partner with the VP of ESS Sales, Best Buy, and Sound United's demand planning team to deliver accurate, high-confidence sales forecasts by analyzing sales data, monitoring inventory health, and identifying areas for improvement.
      • Market & Competitive Insights - Coordinate marketing-supported account activities, align reseller strategies with Sound United priorities, and own the collection and documentation of competitive intelligence to drive strategic decision-making.


      Required Qualifications:
      • High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in related field highly preferred
      • At least 5 years of direct sales experience and success with managing multiple states
      • Proven experience managing a regional sales team and/or rep firms
      • Knowledge of and experience with consumer electronics
      • Strong computer and organizational skills[CT5] - MS Office, Advacnced Excel, Power BI, CRM Platforms
      • Experience working directly with Best Buy
      • Proven ability to achieve sales results
      • Excellent communicator with excellent people skills.
      • Ability to foster relationships and tactfully partner with employees and others.
      • Ability to work independently, set priorities, solve problems and make decisions.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite


      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Thorough knowledge of Sound United brands, audio technologies, competitive environment, and CI landscape


      Compensation:

      The anticipated salary range for this position is $99,000-$132,000 plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 40% SIP bonus based on company, department, and individual performance.
