      As a Distribution Sales Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate, plan, deliver on KPI analysis, and translate information into effective data-driven decisions. Specifically, this role will:

      • Develop and implement distribution strategies to maximize market penetration, profitability, and growth of Ocean Optic’s spectroscopy business in the EMEA, Middle East, and Parts of Africa region, focusing on Southern and Central Europe.
      • Identify and evaluate potential regional distribution partners to ensure a comprehensive and effective distribution network is in place.
      • Manage the existing network of distributors, including negotiating agreements with yearly sales goals, monitoring performance, providing training and support, and addressing any technical issues or concerns.
      • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and other stakeholders to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
      • Work closely with other functional teams, such as sales, marketing, product management, and operations, to ensure effective coordination and execution of distribution strategies and initiatives.
      • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities and threats and develop appropriate response plans.
      • Develop and manage distributor sales targets, ensuring effective allocation of resources to meet business objectives.
      • Regular online and in-person meetings with our channel partner and end-customer to help our partners close important deals.
      • Provide regular reports and updates on distribution performance, key metrics, and market trends to senior management.


      ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
      Our ideal candidate will bring the following knowledge and experience:

      • Bachelor's degree in sciences and/or engineering field, Master's degree is preferred.
      • At least 3-5 years of experience in distribution management or sales territory management with the desire to, preferably in spectroscopy, diagnostics, or a related industry.
      • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing effective distribution strategies, negotiating distribution agreements, and managing a network of distributors.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and information to identify opportunities and threats.
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
      • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
      • Fluent in English is essential; German or Dutch are a plus.
      • Experience with Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Business Intelligence
      • Strong ability to sell technical concepts as well as address technical questions and support application inquiries to support our channel partners.
      • Experience with budget management
