Administer, monitor, and optimize Epic Clarity and Caboodle databases to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability.
Manage database configuration, security, backup/recovery, and change control processes.
Collaborate with Epic analysts and data architects to develop efficient queries, indexes, and stored procedures.
Implement performance tuning, capacity planning, and resource allocation strategies.
Ensure database compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and institutional data governance standards.
Support data integration, upgrades, and migrations within the Epic ecosystem.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data models, workflows, and operational procedures.
Provide on-call support and participate in incident response for critical database systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, including database design, implementation, and maintenance.
Experience supporting Epic or other healthcare enterprise systems.
Experience in an academic medical center, healthcare, or similarly regulated environment.
Strong understanding of data security, integrity, and compliance principles.
Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for databases.
Certifications:
Cogito Systems Administration
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in healthcare database administration, with advanced knowledge of Epic Clarity/Caboodle and SQL performance optimization.
Familiarity with Epic Chronicles, ETL tools, and Epic data models.
Experience with PowerShell scripting, automation frameworks, and database monitoring tools.
Certifications:
Certifications in database management or related areas (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server Certification).

ITIL Foundation Certification
This is a remote position.
Superlanet is seeking an Epic Database Administrator for our healthcare client in Texas. This is a direct hire, remote opportunity with occasional travel required. The Epic Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of SQL database environments supporting Epic’s reporting and data warehouse systems, including Clarity and Caboodle—critical components of the organization’s Epic EHR ecosystem.
Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Decision Support, this role ensures the integrity, security, and availability of data across development, test, and production environments. The Epic Database Administrator collaborates closely with Epic analysts, infrastructure engineers, and clinical informatics teams to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency across the healthcare enterprise.
