  For the Gucci Global Data Science team based in Milan, we are currently seeking an English speaking Senior Data Scientist.
  
  In this role, you will report to the Global Corporate Director of Data Science and help the business in central decision making processes, have the opportunity to lead the technical development of a small team of bright and driven data scientists, collaborate with teams across different regions and areas of the business leveraging Gucci’s rich data sources, infrastructure and the power of machine learning and advanced analytics.

  How you will contribute

  • You will be responsible for leading the technical development of data science projects in different areas of the business and their deployment in a production environment using machine learning models.
  • You will teach, mentor and counsel colleagues on new techniques and methodologies in the ML, AI and software development domains.
  • You will help define the best practices and ways of working of the data science team to ensure high quality standards of code and documentation using version control tools and reproducibility frameworks.
  • You will contribute to the definition of the infrastructural and technical stack for the data science team and the creation of a data science educational curriculum for the different stakeholders.
  • You will help prioritise tasks and ensure that data science projects align with organizational goals and deliver high impact solutions.
  • You will design, implement, measure and take ownership of solutions, that you will present and discuss with business stakeholders.
  • You will follow research literature and test new approaches to tackle complex business problems and you will share and discuss the findings with the entire team.
    

  About you
  We are looking for candidates with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as a data scientist and with the following skills:

  • Proven experience in technical leading multiple Data Science projects from ideation to production
  • Experience in defining and promoting coding and documentation best practices for MLOps
  • Strong Experience in stakeholders management and communicating efficiently technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Highly proficient in coding with python/pySpark and similar languages, able to write production-level code and E2E automated pipelines, ensuring experiments reproducibility and tracking
  • Expert in data exploration, data quality assessment and cleansing of big volumes of data
  • Developing clean, well documented and tested code
  • Collaborate well in a team environment
  • Sensitive to users’ needs to understand the problems at stake
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • English spoken and written mandatory
  • Experience with Deep Learning frameworks is a plus
