      Job Description

      “Know your Region”

      You are a a leader of influence in OFX working collaboratively with the Regional President APAC and the APAC Leadership team to embed compliance controls and culture in the business. As Head of Compliance APAC, you will maintain a robust compliance program, maintain a strategic and operational view of regulatory requirements, be a specialist in local APAC regulatory reporting and requirements and maintain a well informed and balanced compliance view of the region. You will provide strategic compliance advice to the APAC leadership team.

      What you will do:

      Compliance Controls and Maturity in APAC:

      • Develop, maintain, and oversee the compliance program and controls.
      • Embed OFX's group-wide compliance controls and culture.
      • Regulatory Compliance:
      • Develop and own a regulatory compliance radar providing an APAC view of regulatory focus areas, impacts on OFX and submission responses that may be required.
      • Implement regulatory change and comprehensive regulatory reporting.

      APAC Regulators:

      • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all APAC regulators, including AUSTRAC, Monetary Authority Singapore, Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department and the Financial Markets Authority in New Zealand.
      • Ensure accurate and complete ongoing regulatory reporting.
      • Collaborate with the Data team for the accuracy and completeness of new and legacy reports.

      Compliance Policies:

      • Implement group-wide compliance policies across various areas, including licensing, anti-money laundering, counter terrorist financing, sanctions compliance, complaints management, safeguarding, and other core compliance obligations.
      • Develop regional specific APAC compliance policies based on regulatory and internal needs.

      APAC Compliance Program:

      • Manage the APAC Compliance Program and ensure ongoing compliance with legislative obligations.
      • Lead Compliance-related projects and initiatives including new license applications, regulatory change projects, changes to platforms, or other control environment aspects.
      • Design, implement, and maintain all APAC AML/CTF programs, manuals, policies, procedures, and systems.
      • Provide advice on Compliance requirements and risk management.
      • Report to APAC subsidiary boards, ERC, and ARCC as required.

      Qualifications

      • Tertiary qualifications / professional qualification in Law, Commerce, Business, or technical discipline.

      Experience and Skills:

      • 10+ years in financial services with a strong risk management and compliance background.
      • 5+ years of leadership experience in a large corporation.
      • Comprehensive knowledge of financial services and AML legislation in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, and other Asian markets.
      • Experience working with regulators like Austrac, Monetary Authority Singapore, Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the Financial Markets Authority in New Zealand.
      • Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
      • Business process knowledge and broad-based operational perspective.
      • Self-directed, professional, and strong initiative and organizational skills.
      • Experience in money remittance / payments is preferred but not essential.
