      Job Summary:

      The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is search for a Laundry Manager to manage and supervise an inmate crew. This position will plan, organize and direct all functions of laundry operations located at the Arizona State Prison (ASPC) - Tucson.

      Job Duties:

      -Supervises the accounting of the laundry, separating, washing, drying, and the return/distribution of clean laundry
      -Evaluates machinery and other resource requirements for maintenance, inspect for cleanliness, order new or replacement equipment
      -Keeps updated on any laundry/linen related incidents and relevant changes
      -Analyzes data and make necessary changes in operating method, plan, organize upcoming events
      -Maintains inventory control of laundry/linen warehouse in which supplies are issued and ordered
      -Fills out daily production reports, daily inmate attendance reports, monthly inmate evaluations
      -Reviews all incoming paperwork and issue inmate workers their job assignments
      -Answers inmate letters regarding laundry/linen
      -Drives on State Business
      -Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

      Knowledge of:
      -Laundry methods, materials, and chemicals
      -Records management supply and equipment acquisition
      -Security practices and inmate accountability
      -ADCRR policies and procedures
      -Diagnosis and repair procedures

      Skill in:
      -Written and verbal communication
      -Organization and management
      -Adherence to proper control of chemicals and equipment.
      -Methods to ensure safety from illness and disease in a correctional environment
      -Decision making
      -Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships

      Ability to:
      -Work in a prison environment
      -Prioritize workload
      -Basic mathematical calculations
      -Lifting/carrying boxes
      -Operate a computer and laundry machines

      Selective Preference(s):

      -One (1) year of supervision of a commercial laundry facility and an understanding of the needs of that operation

      Pre-Employment Requirements:

      Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation and drug test.

      If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

      In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.

      Retirement:

      Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
      Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
