      Job summary

      We're delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Lead Dietitian to join our MentalHealth Services for Older People (MHSOP) team within the North Yorkshire and Yorklocality, covering a 12-month maternity leave. This role makes a difference to the nutritionalcare of older people living with functional (e.g., depression, psychosis) and organicconditions (e.g., vascular and Alzheimer's dementia).You will provide expert inpatient dietetic care to:o Foss Park Hospital (York): two wardso Springwood Hospital (Malton): one wardo When required, supporting at Cross Lane Hospital (Scarborough): one wardWorking as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, you'll lead and deliver highquality, person centred dietetic assessment and interventions tailored to complex needs.If you're passionate about improving nutritional care for older people and would enjoyleading in a collaborative team, we'd love to hear from you.

      Main duties of the job

      o Deliver comprehensive inpatient dietetic assessment and interventions tailored tocomplex needs across MHSOP wards at Foss Park and Springwood.o Provide specialist input for a broad range of presentations, including functional andorganic diagnoses.o Contribute to full assessment of needs by the multi-disciplinary team including inputto formulation meetings, falls management and physical health / frailty care.o Provide clinical supervision and support for a band 3 dietetic support worker andband 5 dietitians.o Lead and contribute to service development, audit, research activities, and pathwaydevelopment to improve nutritional care outcomes.o Deliver training to multidisciplinary clinical teams and facilitate studenttraining/placements.o Work collaboratively within the MDT to ensure person centred, evidence basednutrition support aligned to national guidance.o Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, governance, and professionalpractice.

      Our Dietetic Service is the largest specialist Mental Health and Learning Disability dietetic team in the UK, with strong links to the British Dietetic Association.We provide specialist dietetic input across Adult Eating Disorders, Adult Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Learning Disabilities, and Secure Inpatient Services. You'll join a highly experienced network of Clinical Specialist and Lead Dietitians, supported by our Professional Head of Dietetics.

      Essential

      • Pre-registration qualification in dietetics (relevant professional field) as recognised by HCPC) Registration with HCPC.
      • Registration with HCPC
      • Evidence of post-registration Masters level learning Or in the absence of masters level learning o equivalent experience in relevant area. E.g. relevant level 7 courses, researcher role, quality improvement activity, leading service development, project management, strategic leadership, NICE involvement, service evaluation.
      • Substantial clinical experience of complex dietetics delivery in relevant specialist area in collaboration with service users, families and relevant others.
      • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) level 7 (SLT =8) for International recruits

      Experience/Knowledge

      • Experience of supporting people with mental health conditions, learning disability or autism
      • Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions or learning disabilities or autism
