This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.
U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S. is required , and no current or future work authorization sponsorship available.
The Maintenance Program Assurance Auditor evaluates regulatory and internal controls and performs analysis in order to mitigate the risk of non-compliance through process improvements. Through these methods the Maintenance Program Assurance Auditor ensures that the controls established for Maintenance Program requirements, Time Limited Deferrals, New and Previously Operated Aircraft Acquisitions are adequately and effectively maintained and executed to satisfy Southwest Airlines’ highest standards of care and safety.
Perform inspections of time limited maintenance deferrals to identify critical errors in paperwork or Computerized Data Collection Systems
Conduct inspections of program documents (Life Limited Parts, Fatigue Critical Baseline Structures, Supplemental Type Certificate, Airworthiness Directive reviews, Major Repair, Major Alteration, Damage Tolerance Analysis) for both previously operated and new aircraft prior to induction into the Southwest fleet, to ensure compliance with program requirements
Interpret and evaluate basic technical industry/company documents (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manual, Maintenance Planning Documents, Illustrated Parts Catalog, etc.) to determine and ensure compliance with maintenance program requirements
Validate the Computerized Data Collection Systems for accuracy using industry/company standard manuals
Identifies discrepancies/errors, investigate the cause, and communicate a logical resolution promptly to the respective process owner
Updates the Maintenance Program Assurance database with inspection results
May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Understanding of the aviation industry and FAA regulations, including 14 Code of Regulations, Service Bulletin, Service Letter, Airworthiness Directive, Airworthiness Directive Letter, Supplemental Type Certificate, etc.
Understanding the relevance of risks associated with exceptions while considering the broader implications of actions taken
Ability to analyze and comprehend basic technical data, reports, instructions, and maintenance documents (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manual, Maintenance Planning Documents, Illustrated Parts Catalog, etc.)
Ability to think logically and objectively about maintenance processes/procedures
Ability to visualize, articulate, and condense complex issues into concise, easily understood updates and/or presentations
Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
General understanding of the aviation industry and FAA regulations, including 14 Code of Regulations, Airworthiness Directive, Safety Management System, Safety Risk Management, and Maintenance Procedural Manual
Knowledge of project management principles
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Ability to initiate tasks, perform duties, and respond to inquiries with minimal direction or supervision
Ability to prioritize projects with frequent interruptions and time constraints
Ability to establish credibility and rapport and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Partners with others to synthesize recommendations and understand their impact on business
Ability to partner to negotiate and mediate situations to a constructive conclusion
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Intermediate level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
Using and interpreting industry standard manuals (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structural Repair Manual, Maintenance Planning Documents, Illustrated Parts Catalog, etc.) in an air carrier maintenance environment
Analytics with data related to aviation or quality assurance
Preferred: Alteryx, SQL and Maintenix experience
Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements
Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Occasional travel and extended work hours are required based on operational needs.

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $80,350.00 per year to $89,300.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.Benefits you’ll love:
