What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform accurate coding and billing services within the billing department
- Review documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Communicate with physicians to clarify documentation or diagnoses and ensure accurate coding
- Maintain knowledge of current billing rules and trends through continuous education
- Assist the billing department with verifying patient eligibility and resolving denied claims
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one year of experience with physician coding
- AAPC Credential: Minimum certification of a CPC, or AHIMA certification, or in pursuit of certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

- Experience in a healthcare-related coding environment
- Additional coding certifications beyond the minimum requirements
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance standards
- Proven ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
