What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Transcribe medical dictation utilizing proprietary software and compatible foot pedal
- Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies and inaccuracies in medical dictation
- Format reports according to established guidelines while ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Adhere to privacy and information security policies related to medicolegal matters
What is Required (Qualifications):
- At least 1 year of current full-time work experience in medical transcription for acute care facilities
- Experience with transcription for both cardiology clinics and diagnostic experience
- Familiarity with the four major work types: History & Physicals, Operative Notes, Consults, and Discharge Summaries
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Experience working with English-as-a-Second Language (ESL) dictators
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience relevant to the position must be within the last 3 years
- Knowledge of medical terminology, AHDI guidelines, and medical transcription practices
- Excellent listening skills and ability to understand diverse accents and dictation styles
