What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify, abstract, and maintain records for all eligible cases of malignancy according to ACoS and UM UCH Oncology Registry standards
- Monitor data quality and submit data to the National Cancer Data Base and the Maryland Cancer Registry in a timely manner
- Coordinate and maintain follow-up on cases, ensuring adherence to regulations
- Participate in conferences and meetings related to oncology data management
- Collaborate with clinical staff to analyze registry data and improve reporting processes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Oncology Data Specialist certification (ODS-C) is required
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS-C)
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and medical records
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- Proficiency in oncology registry software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and data management skills
