      Position Summary:
      The Patient Access Specialist I (PAS I) will check-in patients upon arrival, identify correct patient information in Hospital Systems, verify patient demographic data, and edit as needed.

      Qualifications:

      Education:

      • High School Diploma required.

      Experience

      • Two (2) years previous customer service/administrative clerical experience required.
      • One (1) year experience in patient registration in a medical environment preferred.

      Licensure/Certification/Registration

      • Medical Terminology certification or equivalent preferred.

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
      • Accurately identify the appropriate account for patient visit and will present and educate patients on required forms and obtain signature as required by policy and procedure.
      • Complete all check-in files and manage all appropriate processes specific to the patient and their visit.
      • Collect and post co-payments and balances on accounts due.
      • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
      • Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
      • Display exemplary core customer service skills.
      • Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership.
