      Position Overview: Cordia is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist with experience in Costpoint to join one of our top clients' team. This is a contract to hire position based in Tysons, VA, with a hybrid work arrangement. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Costpoint software.

      Responsibilities:

      • Process and administer payroll for employees accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies.
      • Review and verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
      • Manage and maintain accurate employee records, including data entry and updates in the payroll system.
      • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
      • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, summaries, and other related documentation as required.
      • Reconcile payroll data to general ledger and resolve any discrepancies.
      • Assist in year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
      • Stay up to date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and making recommendations for process improvements.
      • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
      • Maintain confidentiality and ensure the security of employee payroll data.

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and administration.
      • Strong knowledge and experience with Costpoint software is required.
      • Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and requirements.
      • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
      • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
      • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

      Contract Details:

      • This is a contract to hire position, with an hourly rate ranging from $30 to $40 per hour, based on experience.
      • Upon successful completion of the contract period, a conversion salary of $80,000 per year will be offered.
      • The work arrangement is hybrid, with a combination of remote work and in-office presence at our Tysons, VA location.
