      We are seeking a highly motivated ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse to join our friendly dedicated small team within the One Day Unit theatre, Leeds Dental Institute

      You will be part of a supportive, collaborative team with a multidisciplinary approach to perioperative care pathways. The Leeds way values are central to who we are. Being patient centred, fair, collaborative, accountable and empowered runs through everything we do

      The successful applicant will be required to work 30hs pw over 3 days Monday to Friday

      We are looking for an individual who is able to provide excellent care to meet the individual patients needs and support them through their day case journey. This will include working in Anaesthetics, Theatre (scrub and circulate), first stage recovery and second stage recovery (admission through to discharge )

      The One Day Unit is a dedicated Day Surgery Unit situated within the Leeds Dental Institute, the patients range from 3years to Adult attending for minor Oral Surgery procedures under General Anaesthetic/IV sedation

      Training and support will be provided as required

      Main duties of the job

      The Successful candidate will form part of the Dental One Day Unit team and will work flexibly in the different areas within the department, this will include - supporting the Anaesthetist in the Anaesthetic room and theatre, scrubbing and circulating in theatre, 1st stage Recovery and the ward area providing pre and post operative care for our adult and paediatric patients

      About us

      The One Day Unit is situated within the Dental Institute and is classed as an isolated site, accessed by the link bridge to Clarendon wing

      The department comprises of the ward area for pre and post operative patients, Anaesthetic room, Theatre and recovery rooms and offices for the Scheduling team, and pre-assessment nurses

      The team is small but close knit and supportive and has a mixture of ODPs, Registered Nurses, support staff, Dental Nurses and admin staff and we work collaboratively with the other departments in the LDI and main jubilee and Clarendon wing theatres

      There are different lists for each day and there is a lot of variety of patients and treatments with 2 days a week being dedicated paediatric lists

      There are opportunities to learn new skills and to continue professional development, we encourage team members to take on projects and become staff champions, key trainers etc
