Job Description

Operate plate burning equipment to flame cut steel plate to customer specifications
Communicate with the supervisor on shift and other crew members to ensure timely processing of customer orders
Use the following tools: burning machines, track burners, hand torch, tape measure, striker, torch wrench, broom, shovel and pry bar
Maintain a working knowledge of standard practice instructions
Perform safety inspections on equipment
Assist other crew members as needed
Able to work in environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust, and noise
Must be able to work 12 hours per day, on any shift, any day of the week—including mandatory weekends, holidays and/or overtime
Accurately enter data into computers
Able to learn, retain and apply new knowledge
Good written and oral communication skills
Good math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, including fractions, accurate number identification
Flexibility and willingness to learn and to accept changes in job duties
Able to use basic hand tools: wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measure and hand torch
Frequent walking, standing, stooping and periodic lifting up to 50 lbs.
Successful completion of ergonomics evaluation
Show willingness to cross train in other shipping position(s)

The starting wage for this role is $26.00/hour with monthly incentive bonus opportunities. As a Plate Burner, you will operate plate burning equipment in an efficient manner to meet customer orders while maintaining a clean, safe work area.
