      **What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
      - Design studies and submit IRB proposals while collecting and processing environmental microbe data
      - Format, clean, and analyze infectious disease data related to outpatient, national, and global settings
      - Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities and develop project independence
      - Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences
      - Assist in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in experimental techniques and project development

      **What is Required (Qualifications):**
      - Doctoral degree (or near completion) in Biostatistics, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field, completed by the start of the appointment
      - Demonstrated research experience and a track record of publication in reputable scientific journals
      - Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
      - Commitment to fostering an inclusive research and teaching environment
      - Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a research team
