What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize operations
- Ensure data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery readiness for production databases
- Collaborate with development teams on schema design, query optimization, and data modeling
- Support database security and access controls in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards
- Lead database upgrades, migrations, and automation of routine tasks
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must have an active DoD Top Secret Clearance
- Security+ or equivalent certification required
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a DBA in federal environments
- Strong understanding of database security and compliance requirements
- Expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience; advanced degree is a plus
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL)
- Scripting ability in at least one: PowerShell, Bash, or Python
- Familiarity with data integration & messaging tools and supporting analytics/BI workloads
- Experience building database observability and integrating with SIEM tools
