      The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is dedicated to empowering students by providing academic support that stimulates critical thinking and nurtures academic independence. We are currently seeking a math tutor with strong proficiency in college-level algebra. The ideal candidate will be able to assist students with topics commonly found in courses such as Quantitative Reasoning and College Algebra. While not required, the ability to support students in trigonometry and calculus is highly preferred and would be a valuable asset.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in math, with a focus on college-level algebra.
      • Assist students with problem-solving, homework, test preparation, and understanding math concepts.
      • Support academic integrity by modeling responsible student behavior.
      • Help students build confidence and develop effective math study skills.
      • Collaborate with instructors and staff to align tutoring with current coursework.
      • Create or recommend supplemental learning materials as needed.
      • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions in TracCloud.
      • Distribute and collect student feedback as directed.
      • Refer students to other academic resources when appropriate.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      $15.00/hour - schedule is flexible

      Qualifications:

      • Minimum of a B or higher in College Algebra or equivalent math course.
      • Ability to clearly explain algebraic concepts; familiarity with trigonometry and/or calculus is a plus.
      • Strong communication skills and a patient, student-centered approach.
      • Reliable, professional, and open to feedback.
      • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
